Ford’s Theatre: Little Shop of Horrors Promotion at AwesomeCon

For the promotion of Little Shop of Horrors, Ford’s Theatre expanded outreach by attending AwesomeCon 2024. I supported this effort by designing campaign materials and assisting with on-site engagement.

What I Did

  • Designed a collectible postcard (mini poster on the front, show info & QR coupon code on the back).

  • Created sticker designs (converted from buttons due to last minute budget constraints).

  • Designed social graphics to promote an all weekend pass for a giveaway.

  • Volunteered to help run the booth at event, handed out materials, and engaged attendees.

Promotional graphic with instructions to win a 3-day weekend pass to AwesomeCon. Text includes steps for entry, such as following @fordstheatre and @awesomecons on social media, liking the post, commenting with cosplay character, and sharing for bonus. Results

  • Widespread distribution of postcards & stickers across the convention.

  • Strong audience engagement (people loved cuddly & cute Audrey II).

  • Strengthened internal relationships & better understood patron-facing roles.

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and a flower headband, is holding a green plush plant with a pink tongue and teeth, resembling a cartoonish carnivorous plant, at a booth with promotional materials for 'Little Shop of Horrors'.

Why This Matters

This project blended design, event presence, and audience interaction, which helped give me insight into how marketing materials actually land with people in the real world.
